Last day of my Nature Inspired Art Class
Sunday, March 15, 2015
Well, tomorrow is the last day of my Nature Inspired Art Class. Can I say that I am thrilled with my final project? Not really, but I did learn a lot.
So, I had my idea.
- wreath of olive branch
- the word AGAPE in center as a cross
- faith written in blue connecting points of cross
- the words family and friends shooting out as rays from the cross
Process
- I began the final draft and had the beginning sketch done and realized I did it on white paper when my original plan was for it to be done on blue paper.
- Then, I retrieved my blue paper, redrew the outline, started to color, and realized I was on the textured side of paper and the letters would never look right.
- Completed the third redraw on the smooth side of the blue paper.
- The biggest challenge came from trying to make the words look decent and connect them to the wreath and Agape cross.
Needless to say, the picture in my head was much better than the final product. On other hand, it was a learning process, and I did indeed learn that I love mandalas and want to draw more. However, I will avoid words--I don't have the handwriting or creative power to make letters look good in my art.
Well, enough stalling....here is my final product. I know....I had better sign up for more art classes!
