Flowers and Birds are Food for the Soul

This year Barb and I decided to add flowers to our balconies--inspired by our neighbor Donna and my Aunt Martha, both who have been enjoying flowers on their balconies. So I purchased a window box and a large pot both filled with a variety of plants, impatiens, and a pot of delicate, beautiful purple flowers that my dear friend Kathy gave me. My balcony looks beautiful. To add to their beauty, Barb and I bought thistle feeders for our balconies, and soon little yellow finches started to feed. Yesterday, Barb noticed a hummingbird briefly stop at her balcony, so we will now add hummingbird feeders. The colors, watching the droopy flowers and leaves come to life when they are watered and fed, seeing their reaction to the sun, wind, and rain, and of course, the finches eating the tiny thistles--all food for the soul --flowers and birds.
