Nourish Update 2
Monday, February 22. 2016
I thought it was time for an update on my guiding word progress. We are now in the middle of February, so just how am I letting my word "nourish" guide me. Probably the most work I have done is spiritual work. I make time each day for intentional prayer and/or reading. This is new for me. I have always prayed, but never consistently, so I want it to be very much an intentional time, no matter how short or long. This also connects with my intention to find "stillness" in the day, no matter how long or short.
I have a habit of living a hectic life much of the time, and that is okay, because in many ways it energizes me. However, it also can interfere with other things I really like or want to accomplish such as learning an instrument or to draw, or growing as a photographer, or for that matter, finding time to volunteer. So I am taking small steps to try to build a better day and hopefully a better me. I have discovered that "stillness nourishment" results in me being more intentional in all I do.
Now, where I am struggling most is always with my food. I have made strides in that I cook now, and I am proud of that. However, amount and consistency remains a struggle. I also find that the gray winter days really play havoc with my desire to nourish the muscles, so I have not been nourishing my muscles and joints through exercise. So these are major areas that need work. Somehow, every time I sit down to eat or go to grab a snack I need to think about my word--nourish.
So my year continues and hopefully, my word will continue to guide, influence, and impact me.

Friends nourish you too as you do me.
