One Word about Your Day
Wednesday, February 17, 2016
So I thought I'd have a little fun on Facebook and repost someone's post asking my friends to make a one word comment about their day. As the day progressed, it was interesting to see the range of responses. No, this isn't a significant poll, nor any deep analysis, but I love people, therefore, I love watching people, interacting with people, and listening to people. So it was just interesting to see the range of thoughts about each person's day on a given date. Amazingly of forty-nine responses, there were only 3 responses that were repeated by only two people each. So let's see what it all looked like.
Someone paid tribute to David Bowie on this day that he passed, so her word was Bowie. Thoughtful.
We had those individuals having a good day so responses were the following: enjoyable (2), good, great, like, productive, joyful, sunny(2), small potatoes, true, sunshine, happy (2), pleasant, friends, meetings, full, family.
Then there were those who were more emphatic or exclamatory about their day used words like thrilling, drama, busy, stimulating, inspiring, hilarious, accomplishment, proud. Love their enthusiasm.
Of course, there were those who were more introspective so we had serene, restful, peaceful, and rejuvenation.
There were those for whom I felt badly, because they were not having such a good day so responses included painful, whining, sick, frustrating, worrisome. I hope their next day was better.
One person named a culture "Greek" and another named a country "Istanbul."
We had the one person who didn't understand directions and said they would miss me that week at work. Yet another, who said "Read Them" meaning the post.
One person was either hungry for or cooking or cold, so her word was Soup.
Finally, one response was a mother of two boys under the age of 5, so of course her response was "Boys."
Oh, one more thing, not unusual but of 49 responses only three were given by men.
Like I said before, this was just one of those little activities to keep my mind thinking and my writing going.

The variety is amazing!
